Pat Buchanan Thinks White Men Don’t Receive Credit They Deserve
Maddow is absolutely correct in stating (and restating) that Pat Buchanan’s argument of the grievances of the “disenfranchised” white masses is severely dating and stratifying himself from the future of the United States of America. Buchanan states that in the ’60s 90% of Americans were white and that the framers of the Constitution were white, however, America has gone through massive changes in the 40 years since the Civil Rights movement making Buchanan’s use of the alleged racial statistics of Civil Rights era America a complete anachronism.
The fact is that America is becoming a much more mixed nation comprised of people of all races, ethnicities, religions, and sexual orientations. Therefore, for the Supreme Court to be able to truly understand the rights of Americans, it must have an understanding Americans – all of them.
As for his “reverse discrimination” claims, someone should give Buchanan a lesson on the inherent powers of white privilege and why it means makes the term “reverse discrimination” a complete and utter oxymoron…
“Affirmative Action is to increase diversity by discriminating against white males…Affirmative Action is basically reverse discrimination against white males and it’s as wrong as discrimination against Black females and others.”
“This is has been a country built basically by white folks in this country, who were 90% of the entire nation in 1960 when I was growing up Rachel, and the other 10% were African Americans who had been discriminated against.”
