Asher Roth Takes to Twitter to Address Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize
Asher Roth, who has already faced scrutiny for previous statements on Twitter, took to his Twitter profile today to address United States President Barack Hussein Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize win.
Though some may read Roth’s statements incorrectly (though I’m not sure what the means by ‘we[']re being manipulated’), Roth may have a point. While riding back from the Kennedy Center today, a respondent on the Newshour with Jim Lehrer commented that though it is great that Obama is being recognized by the international community and that this could be a sign that the world is beginning to see the United States in new light, there were many other people and organizations who have worked tirelessly towards peace to whom the prize could have gone to.
Also, considering the prize comes with a $1.4 million check, these people and organizations could have put both the newfound prestige and money to very good use in advancing their respective causes:
