Video : Indian Deoband Denounces Violence in Islam
I’m not entirely certain what Zaid Hamid’s accusations amounted to, especially considering Pakistan’s documented role in creating the Taliban in Afghanistan, but the declarations by the deoband are much needed in the Muslim world.
Even if the deoband statements are carefully timed political statements, having influential Muslim groups in regions that have been victim to terrorism denouncing violence in the name of Islam is an important move for Islam:
