The Facebook Page for The Kabul Museum posted this video from a 1971 video guide called “Adventure in Afghanistan,” of what were the Buddhas of Bamiyan before the Taliban militants destroyed them in 2001.

Does anyone else find it slightly funny that the United States is slated to begin construction on an African American History Museum the same year the world is supposed to end?
